The Huffington Post premieres iPad magazine
American news and blog commentary website The Huffington Post has announced the arrival of a new iPad magazine, aptly titled Huffington.
The weekly publication will is set to be anchored by more long-form journalism pieces (4,000-8,000 words), and will include commentary, photo essays and data visualizations. It will also will have digital enhancements like article commenting, sharing, and outbound links.
In an introductory essay to the new digital format, editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington says the magazine is meant to "not only to preserve but to enhance the reading experience in our hyper-connected world."
Its inaugural issue cover story is an expose on young voters' disillusionment with President Obama and a Q&A with screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, whose new HBO series Newsroom premieres later this month.
