Cover of new J.K. Rowling book revealed

British novelist J.K. Rowling has revealed the cover to her new book The Casual Vacancy slated for release on September 27th. In addition to being her first novel aimed at adults, The Casual Vacancy will also be the writer's first book since the conclusion of the popular Harry Potter series in 2007. The 512-page story explores the fictional English town of Pagford and the secretive dark layers of emotion from which its citizens struggle. These feelings of conflict are escalated by the unexplained death of a man on the parish council.

Mario J. Pulice designed the cover, sporting an image of a box checked with an X, along with lettering and illustration by Joel Holland. Publisher Little, Brown and Company will also release an audio version of the book read by Pirates of the Caribbean actor Tom Hollander.
