Critical New Romantics: All the Young Dudes

In the early '80s, a flamboyant, fashion-conscious crop of bands emerged from London's underground and exploded on the U.K. pop charts. Led by Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, and Ultravox, they combined synthesizer riffs, dance grooves, and more than a bit of Bowie with a wild eye for clothing and a hedonistic, good-time approach to achieving ecstasy through music.
